how it all started...

on thursday may 20th (3 days after my due date) after a long walk at dillon beach and dinner at my favorite sushi place, toyo, i started to feel some contractions. but it wasn't until 2:40 am in the morning when i woke up to my water breaking that i knew little stella was on her way. rob and i tried to get some sleep, but it was not happening for me, i was way too excited and amped up with anticipation. we arrived at the hospital at 9am on friday and i labored for most of the day on my own. my progress was not quite fast enough so eventually i had to take pitocin and labor really got going and was very intense. rob was amazing thru all of it, he and eva our doula helped me get through each crazy contraction.

active labor, very active labor. i'll spare you the rest, but right after this i was told i could start pushing and 90 minutes later we had stella...and boy was she happy to be here! rob got to catch her and then she hung out on my chest for over an hour. we were in pure bliss.

a star is born!

it's been 3 weeks since stella was born and i finally decided i should document her life on the internets! so here is a bloggy-poo dedicated to our little star. you don't have to look at it if you don't want, but i will try to keep it updated and interesting as we embark on a new adventure all together!
